I love this display idea from the fabric store Purl! They were looking for a way to show all of their beautiful Liberty of London prints in a tiny space and I think that what they came up with is brilliant! Embroidery hoops are such a welcome change from frames.
This idea could be easily reproduced at home and it’s a great wall décor solution. I don’t know about you but I have drawers full of small bits of fabric and embroidered table linens. Instead of hiding them away, display them for all to see!

beautiful! everything they do at Purl is so fantastic, and I’m nuts about that line of Liberty prints– oh for an unlimited fabric budget!
i wish i could get my hands on about a half dozen of those fabrics! the liberty prints are all so beautiful…
i like the gallery effect the embroidery hoops have. i just might have to try that.
Ooo that is sooo pretty!
!! i am totally going to repeat this in my house !!
thanks for always being on the lookout for such cool ideas…
I totally did this about two months ago with some feedsack fabrics that I found. I stumbled into the idea when I moved my sewing room and was trying to find new places for everything. It seemed natural to want to display the fabric in the unused hoops. It is ironic when you think you have an original idea and somewhere, someone else is doing the same thing. I think you can even see them behind the owl picture on my blog. I do not have this many though and mine aren’t as cool.
it’s true jaime-
it’s hard to find any original idea out there anymore! but you can put your own spin on it! and i’m sure yours are equally cool.
That is an amazing idea! Thanks for the cool post!
This is such a fantastic idea!! thanks so much for posting about this - I love wall decor that is functional and easy and the results are amazing!
I just moved and have a big blank wall in my bedroom - this is a great idea to fill it!
I saw these on the FP.Blog. Just beautiful.
Hey - This is a fantastic idea, but not new. Is that too nay-sayerish? We did this with quilt top pieces in the 1970’s and it looks just as fantastic 35 years later. Lovely.
Hey Sharon- No, it’s definitely not new. We did some displays like this with embroidery hoops a few years ago at Anthro too. I think it’s pretty hard to find a totally original idea but it’s the way it’s interpreted that’s interesting!
