A long time ago, a co-worker and I bought this magazine called View on Colour. It was really expensive; I’m not even going to tell you how much for fear of being hunted down by a mob of very sensible, thrifty people. Let’s just say that I actually think it was worth it.
View on Colour is a magazine for trend and design professionals that uses Pantone colors for specific reference.
This magazine has provided endless inspiration for me. Every time I look through it, I find something new I love. Despite being a trend magazine from 2003, it has never seems dated. It’s interesting that the theme of this magazine is “Folk”, a “trend” that seems to have found it’s way into the hearts of lots of people around blog-land. I don’t even think of it as a trend but just something I respond to, an element that is often missing from my gray city life.
I am going to share a few pictures of this magazine. I hope you get as much enjoyment out of this as I have!

Do you have an image or a magazine that never fails to inspire you? Please share!

We used to have a few of these at my old job. Amazing!!!
Totally great photography and inspired. I love the concept of “color forecasting” too — so funny.
Don’t worry, I’m not going to reveal how much it costs, because I have no idea!
Wow, this is great. I’m partial to books by Tricia Guild and my beloved Marie Claire Idées. I have really old issues I still marvel over.
I love my old, old issues of a handful Victoria magazine. I have kept them for years and turn back to them when I need a moment of inspiration!
DWELL!
I actually spent an entire afternoon looking at the pantone books once, even though I wasn’t a clothing designer like everyone else.
my faves are Selvedge (too expensive but so lovely…) and So-En (a japanese one i get at kinokuniya).
Absolutely stunning.
My most inspirational magazine is colors. Not just visually, but also the stories that are told.
My favorite magazine in the whole wide world is Selvedge out of the UK and my next
most favorite is Domino.
I agree… Selvedge is incredible! thanks for posting a few pics! beautiful.
can you please please tell me what the second image is…dishes? do you have any info.
I really do love your blog!
Beautiful images, I am drawn to the first one.
