No, I have not dropped off the face of the earth. I am visiting family on the west coast and it’s just too much work to set up my camera and Photoshop things and get some blogging time in from other people’s houses.
I’ll see you next year! (har har)

It’s been an unusual Christmas around here so far. It’s the first year in five years that I haven’t been slaving away as a visual manager at Anthropologie. Retail is a real buzz-kill to the holiday spirit, especially when everything goes on sale the day after Christmas and you know that the store you worked [...]

Last night, we celebrated Christmas with my father and step-mother and I finally got a little Christmas spirit. Don’t get me wrong: I’ve been making presents and planning out my baking schedule but I just hadn’t felt it yet. I think it’s the fact that it’s still fifty degrees out in New York! I like [...]

Lately, I have been feeling the need for some more natural pieces of furniture in our apartment. I have a tendency to be a little plastic and bubblegum pink in my decorating taste and I have a pretty serious devotion to kitsch but as I get older, I really have more of an appreciation for [...]

I always manage to find one or two [...]

The Department of Craft (and one of my pincushions!) was featured in Pink of Perfection’s video blog about the Bust Craftacular! Fellow DOC agents Enid and Jenn talked a little bit about our Craft Challenges and she focuses in on my skull and crossbones pincushion. Thanks Pink of Perfection!
Pink of Perfection is a weekly video [...]

Can you tell which kind of fruit this is going to be? Boy, I hope so.
I have been making fruit and vegetable greeting cards for the past year or so and my favorite part is what I am doing right now, deciding on fabrics and colors and design. I just bought some new yellow fabric [...]

I just put a bunch of eye pillows in my Etsy shop. They are made with flaxseed and organic lavendar and are one of a kind. Each pillow is made from scraps of (mostly) vintage fabric and pure silk.

How did I not know that Gourmet magazine was awesome? Yesterday afternoon I releuctantly picked it up in search of some nice, non-tacky holiday cookies and I was beyond pleased!

Look at how pretty all of these cookies are! Clockwise from left: Gilded Sesame Cookies, Damson Plum Pinwheels, Raspberry Chocolate French Macaroons and Five spice [...]
